DMC Krakow

DMC Krakow: One of the oldest cities in Poland, the stunning city of Krakow is a hidden gem. Situated on the Vistula river, Krakow has one of the largest market squares in Europe, naturally smack in the middle of the lovely Old Town. It's lined with cafes and restaurants and the twin spires of the magnificent church form a lovely backdrop, whilst you watch the world go by.
Krakow also offers beautiful hilltop Wawel castle, reminiscent of the glorious Edinburgh castle and former Jewish quarter Kazimierz is well worth a visit. Krakow is simply awesome!

Travel highlights

Auschwitz
Auschwitz is undoubtedly the most powerful Holocaust monument in Europe. It was one of the largest concentration camps built and run by the Nazis.
Please note that a visit will make deep impact on you, but the knowledge of what happened during the Holocaust will hopefully prevent history repeating itself.

Market Square
The market square is the heart of Krakow. The square would be unthinkable without its traditional horse carriages and folk bands in traditional cloths. It was built in the 13th century and was then the biggest square in medieval Europe.

St. Mary's Basilica
This basilica is a piece of Krakow's history. Its world famous wooden altar is a Polish national treasure and the largest Gothic altar in the world.

Wawel Royal Castle
Wawel Royal Castle is a symbol of Polish independence. It was built in the 11th century. Wawel Cathedral is the highlight of the castle. To Poland this churcch is what Westminster Abbey is to England.
Today Wawel is Polands' most visited site.

Wieliczka Salt Mine
During eight centuries the mine was an important producer of salt. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and opened to tourists. You will get an impression of how working in a mine has been.
A true highlight are the figures of famous Polish persons carved by miners out of salt.
The mine contains more than 20 chapels, completely made of salt.
